I don’t believe that the CMIO framework will remain relevant. Singapore’s long term future has to involve welcoming the best and brightest from the region, and the world.

There has to be something more compelling than “Singapore is safe and clean and you can make a lot of money” in order for Singapore to not only attract top 0.1% talent, but to convince them to become a part of its story.

The most compelling thing I can think of is: Singapore is at the crossroads between east and west, and these crossroads are where the future of syncretic human culture might be authored. Singapore has always been along a major shipping route, and for hundreds of years…

I believe that Singapore will be one of the last countries in the world to decriminalize drugs, if it ever does.
