I’ve had this recurring conversation with a friend about how there’s a deeper consciousness in each of us, that we don’t always access every day. Everyday life is mundane and tedious and frustrating, but all of that is a laughable distraction to the deeper self. Some people might call it God.
My ideas on this are informed by Alan Watts and Elliott Hulse, and a bunch of other folks that I’ve read or listened to over the years who’ve alluded to something similar.
